Crazy Baby, Crazy!6月5日 Introducing Avery Lilyann!Introducing Avery Lilyann! She was born May 12th at 9:01pm. She weighed in at 6 lbs 13 oz. and 19 inches long. She has dark hair and chubby cheeks like Ethan did, but we're still not sure who she really looks like. Sometimes it's Johnny, sometimes it's Ethan. I'm pretty sure I'm biased, but I do have to say, she's absolutely gorgeous!!! Ethan is doing great with her. He loves to hold her and give her kisses.
They had been watching me for the last part of the pregnancy because after an ultrasound they found that the cord was wrapped around her neck. They weren't sure how tight or how many times, but they wanted to keep an eye on it. They had me coming into the office twice a week for Non-Stress Tests (NST) and a weekly ultrasound for fluid levels. On my due date, I went in for my regular appt and everything looked good on the ultrasound. I went over for my NST and she was being stubborn and refusing to stay on the monitor. After 45 minutes and 2 medical assistants and the doctor trying to get her on the monitor they decided to go ahead and send me to Labor and Delivery. They could get little pieces of her heartbeat, but they couldn't get her to stay on it so they could monitor her. So they started the pitocin around 1 pm. She continued to hide from the monitors most of the time. Around 7:45pm they broke my water and put a heart monitor on her head. I started pushing at 8:53pm and at 9:01pm she was born! Her cord was wrapped tightly twice, which explains why she wouldn't come down into the birth canal.
I started out the day stongly against being induced because I was induced with Ethan and it was not fun! I also wanted to know what it was like to go into labor on my own. By the end of the day, I was so happy they made the decision to induce me. Because of the cord being so tight, it's scary to think of what would have happened had they not been monitoring me and I had been at home when things started to happen.
She's sleeping good, eating good. We saw the doctor yesterday and she was already up to 8 lbs!!! She did catch a little cold from Ethan yesterday, so she's not liking having her nose suctioned, but other than that, she's a great baby! I feel truly blessed to have 2 great kids!
12月10日 Lots of Purple...very little pink!!!ok, so we had our 18 week ultrasound yesterday and ...drum roll please....IT'S A GIRL!!!!! Now, I've never been big on the color pink, so this is going to take some getting used to! In fact, I've never had pink in my house until we moved here and that's cause I can't pull up carpet until I have something to replace it with. I think I'm still in shock about it! It's weird thinking we're going to have a little girl! Although, little girls do have much cuter clothes than little boys! And I'll actually be able to use the dress that my mom gave me that was made for me when I was a baby. Of course, because I"m not into pink, lace and frills, I'm going to have the world's most girly girl around!!! 10月21日 We have a heartbeat!!So we went and had our first ultrasound done today. Everything looks good. Measuring right on track. Heartbeat was at 160. And there's only ONE!!! Everyone kept telling me I was having twins! Got to see him moving around!! Since seeing the baby on the ultrasound, I'm actually thinking boy. Johnny still says girl, along with everyone else, but I think boy. 9月20日 It has begun...So with Ethan, I was sick as a dog. I was sick before I even found out! It was all day, every day. The only thing to help was Seabands. But I didn't find out about them until the end of the first trimester and that's when I stopped getting sick!!! So I when I found out this time, I went a head and got the Seabands. I was expecting to get sick very shortly, especially because I found out so soon. With Ethan I was sick at 5 weeks. So when 5.5 weeks came around this time, I was alittle worried as to why I wasn't sick! I actually took another test at 6 weeks, just to be sure! Well, the test line came back darker than the control line! I almost felt better when I was sick with Ethan because then I knew things were okay. So yesterday morning, when I was rushing around and didn't get a chance to eat right away, the nausea started. And this morning when I got out of bed, I wanted to crawl back into it! I know I need to eat to make myself fell better, but the thought of food really does turn my stomach this morning. So it has begun. Alittle later than last time is all. On a side note, I'm getting so bloated that I already look like I'm 3 months! But I haven't gained any weight! May seems so far away!!!!!
I've already had a few dreams, which I didn't have with Ethan either. The first one was a week ago and I dreamed it was a boy, he had Ethan's chubby cheeks, but other than that, looked like Johnny. We had his name picked out, and he was 8lbs 1 oz. But then 2 nights ago, I dreamed that I had an ultrasound and there was no denying that it was a girl! With Ethan, I just knew. I remember someone asking me when I was about 9 weeks along and I said, without a doubt in my mind, that it was a boy.
I'm very happy that Johnny gets to be a part of this one. He was deployed when I was PG with Ethan, so he really didn't see the progress except for the pics I sent him over email. He only spent a month with me during the first trimester, so he saw some of the sickness, but not too much of the mood swings or homones at work!!! He told me last night, 'This hasn't been too bad." And I just thought to myself...it's just beginning!!! Not just that, but I'm excited that he'll be able to feel the baby move for the first time, he'll be able to see the baby move later, he'll be able to go to my ultrasound with me to find out the sex, he'll be here for the 2nd trimester, the honeymoon phase, when I'm feeling great, ready to do anything! He missed all that before. When he left, I was sicker than sick, when he got back, I was enormous and needing help to get off the couch! My swelling had started and I was waddling! He'll be able to experience the fun part of pregnancy and maybe he'll realize why so many women do it over and over again!
Ok, off to find something to eat! 9月10日 Christian Robert is here!Well, Diane had her baby. Born Sept 4 very early in the morning! I was given all the details, but didn't have a chance to write them down. A bouncing little boy, which of course has made Daddy Vito very proud! We're so happy for them!!!
